Mariusz Stepniak was born on January 10th 1999 in Zgierz, Poland.
Mariusz is ten years old. He is a cheerful boy who likes animals and loves watching football (soccer) matches. Mariusz doesn't go to school. He learns at home. In spite of his illness, Mariusz is a jolly boy. Although his health condition is very bad, playing football (soccer) is his greatest dream. KS Lech Poznan is the boy's favorite football (soccer) club and Mariusz would like to play in it in the future. Mariusz suffers from Dilatative Cardiomyopathy and Cystic fibrosis. Now the most serious problem is the heart (Dilatative Cardiomyopathy). It decreases the heart contractibility. At first it causes left ventricle insufficiency and then both ventricles insufficiency. Health condition of Mariusz (especially his heart) becomes worse very quickly. In October 2008 the heart fraction was 20% and in January 2009 it was only 13%! The other serious problem is Cystic fibrosis, a genetic incurable illness. The organism of an ill person produces mucus, which is too viscous, and it causes disorder in all the organs containing mucous glands (especially in respiratory, digestive and reproductive systems). Cystic Fibrosis is the illness of all the body and it most often leads to chronic bronchial and lungs disorder as well as to enzymatic pancreas insufficiency. This results in digestion and absorbing disorder.

We ask all the people of great heart for help. We need financial support for heart transplantation and for the Cystic Fibrosis treatment. The estimated costs for a heart transplantation, which can be made in Austrian clinic AKH is around $190,000. Transplantation is impossible in Poland because of Cystic Fibrosis.

We beg for help in our son unequal struggle with
